Sunday Street Style Search

Hello fellow fashionistas!

Sorry for not posting for the last couple of days but I have been out enjoying the beautiful weather! But don't worry, fashion is never far from my mind, so yesterday I went to the famous "Carnaby Street" in London to talk to some fashionable folk for a Sunday Street Style Search  :)

It was only a couple of minutes in when I noticed Irina and had to take a photo. Tall and statuesque she definitely stood out from the crowd and her cute outfit was perfect for the summer sun!

Irina is a 15 year old student and unsurprisingly I was the second person who has stopped her on Carnaby Street! However she was extremely modest and was very humble about her style saying she tried not to put too much thought into her outfits and just put on what she liked to wear each day!

About 10 minutes later I met Sandi who proved that there is no age limit to style and individuality.

Like any classy woman, Sandi didn't reveal her age but did say that she was much enjoying the retired life! When I asked her about what influenced her style she told me that it was simply individuality. Sandi doesn't follow trends, but she certainly sets them and I promptly went to "Year Zero London," to purchase her sunglasses...

It was starting to get super hot outside now and I was just about to call it a day when I saw Alexandra and had to grab a quick snap before I left!

Alexandra, a 19 year old student is originally from Sweden and has just finished her studies out there. So what is next for this lovely lady? Well she is off to live in Nice, France to work on yachts....alright for some!! Alexandra was extremely shy and giggly but before she ran off she told me that her style secret was shopping in markets...and then had a brief discussion about Swedish film with my photographer Fran! Overall, both myself and Fran loved Alexandra's individuality and are off to a Swedish market to buy that bag!

And that was the end of my Sunday Street Style Search! I met and talked to some lovely people and found some great style inspiration. So who was your favourite?

Lots of love fellow fashionistas,

MakeUp Your Mind!

Being a fashion addict, the first thing I notice about someone is their shoes! But for most people the first thing you notice about someone is their face. I see makeup as an accessory...it can not only give you a completely new look, but it can also make or break your outfit.
So for you my fellow fashionistas, and only for you, I am braving my naked face to the internet and showing you how I achieve a striking day look and the products I use. I hope you enjoy!

Before and After
Instagram

Okay so first things first, God did not bless me with blemish free skin, so if acne and imperfections offend you, STOP READING NOW! I have taken pictures at every stage of my makeup regime so you can see the gradual process and also recommended alternative products to suit every budget :)
Me completely makeup free!
So this is how I wake up in the mornings...the secret is out! Having problem and combination skin means its really important for me to moisturise, cleanse and tone twice daily as I have already done in this picture. I like to use a lightweight moisturiser for the day time. At the moment I am using "Elemis Freshskin Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser - £21" I like this product because it's really lightweight and non-greasy and is great for those with problematic skin as it doesn't clog up your pores. Alternatively a cheaper but just as great product would be "Simple's Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser - £3.99"

Next stage is for me to use a primer and I am in LOVE with "Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance - £29." I can't rave enough about this product; not only does it help your makeup to stay on longer and give you a smoother skin surface, but it also makes your skin glow with radiance. This effect was difficult to catch in the light I had but really makes a difference. I use this product, before makeup as a primer and then on top of my foundation as a highlighter. Although the price tag is a bit steep for a day to day product, my tube has lasted months and I don't know another product that is as good currently on the market

After Primer

Next is foundation and at the moment I am using "Rimmel Wake Me Up Makeup Foundation Shade 103 True Ivory - £8.99." I'm having a bit of a breakout at the moment on my chin so I find this gives me good coverage but still leaves a dewy finish to the skin. However when my skin is being a bit kinder to me, I treat myself to "Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation." The queen of radiance has packed a lot of sunshine power into this bottle and it's super formula means a light coverage and super dewy finish. I like to apply my foundation with a brush as I find it gives me better coverage and means I can blend it more easily.

Foundation On!

Now for the night time, I go all out on contouring to achieve Kimmy K worthy cheekbones, however during the day I prefer a more subtle look. At the moment I'm actually using a product I got as a promotion from work. It's a trio bronzing set from Boots for Strictly Come Dancing and it's actually pretty good! I apply the darkest colour under my cheekbones using my favourite brush, "Real Techniques Expert Face Brush - £9.99." The brush is 100% cruelty free and are smooth and rounded so great for getting into the hollows of your cheeks for some expert contouring.

Bronzer contouring! Subtle for the daytime

Next up are eyebrows. I LOVE a bold brow and am very proud of my bushy ones. Whilst I have quite a strong brow anyway, I like to give them a bit more definition and colour by using "Benefit Brow Zings Brow Shaping Kit - £24.50." An industry favorite, this set contains a pigmented wax and a setting powder, along with two application brushes and a mini set of tweezers! I tend to mix the wax and the powder together before applying as it gives cleaner lines and more colour.

Brow Zing!

Reaching the end now but the bit that probably takes the most practice....liquid eyeliner! I don't know about you readers, but for years I shied away from this product as I found it too tricky to use, but all you need is practice, practice practice. Just sit in front of a mirror with some baby wipes and find your perfect flick! I use "Kiko Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Black - £3." This product is super cheap but has a strong colour pigment and thin tapered brush meaning you can get a great shape and super precision.

Le Feline Flick

A girl's best friend has to be mascara. It instantly opens up your eyes and gives you something to flutter. I am currently using "Yves Saint Laurent Effect Cils Shocking Indecent Volume Mascara - £23." By applying two layers to both the top and bottom eyelashes, this mascara gives you a "wide-awake" look , and the light formula means that your eyelashes don't feel clogged up with product. Great for the daytime!

Flutter those lashes!

Last but certainly not least is lipstick and this is where you can either go subtle or make a statement, completely changing your entire look. For today, I chose to go with a vampish glamour look and my favorite shade for this is "MAC Satin Lipstick in MEDIA - £15." This gorgeous colour, is deep, rich and gives your lips perfect definition and depth. I apply a layer of this before blotting and then apply a final coat for staying power. Other lipstick brand favorites include Chanel and Clinique but I'll do other makeup looks for you soon using those products :)

Lush up your lips. Mwah!

And that ladies and gentleman is my morning makeup regime and products! I apologise for the long post but I wanted to show you everything step by step so you could see how the look progressed! Once I have done my hair, the finished look, looks like this!
Finished look and hair!

Bag It And Tag It

I dream in bags....Mulberry, Michael Kors, Chanel, Celine, Prada; the list goes on...
BUT, if you are like me then you are bummed down with the fact that your monthly budget barely lets you shop on the high street let alone designer bags!
This is why I am saving like a pro, so that one day I can finally walk into a store and purchase something rather than having to mull around and then awkwardly leave feeling like a peasant!
SO, this weekend as a treat to myself, I headed off to Harrods in search of the perfect summer handbag, if money was no object....of course I dressed for the occasion!

First stop...Mulberry! This classic Willow Tote was a great size for the daytime, with enough room for my tablet, makeup and daily essentials. It even had enough room for a pair of flats in case my feet got tired! The main thing I loved about this bag though was the detachable clutch on the front, meaning you get two for the price of one! Anything that can take me from day to night is a winner in my book!
VERDICT: Great, if you are looking for a classic piece that will go with anything and has great versatility. The only downside for me was that it didn't stand out enough and whilst it came in other colours, nothing really popped.

Mulberry
Onwards and upwards! I came across this gorgeous piece by designer Ethan K. Not only did he have an amazing selection of exotic skinned bags (see orange crocodile below..a personal fav!) but he also does bespoke pieces as well and rarely commissions the same piece twice, meaning you really are getting a one off! This beautiful croc piece came in an amazing tangerine colour which is perfect for the summer and was topped off with an adorable gold hedgehog detail. My favourite thing about this bag though? The secret opening at the back for quick and easy access to all your essentials...Genius!
VERDICT: I absolutely loves this bag and the fact that a purchase would really be a one off piece. The only downside is that crocodile skin ruins in the rain and London isn't the driest place in the world! However, this bag would be worth permanently having an umbrella for!

Ethan K.

Next stop was Tom Ford where I spotted this amazing pony hair and suede tote in bright fuchsia. I ABSOLUTELY loved this bag and it priced mid range out of the ones I found. Smaller than the Mulberry but still a good day time size, the best thing about this bag was the security. The zip at the front was secured with a padlock, and if you are like me and prone to losing things, the key is conveniently hidden within a pink leather tag hanging at the front of the bag.PERFECT!
VERDICT: A really great bag and a colour sure to get you noticed...the only negative was that it didn't come with a matching purse, material or colour wise. Still, if you are looking for a statement piece and something a bit different, it's a definite winner!

Tom Ford
Last but certainly not least was a stop off at Chanel where I found this beautiful naturally dyed python skin number. As soon as it went on my arm, I knew it was a luxury item and with a price tag of over £8,000 I certainly couldn't see myself being able to purchase it anytime soon. This bag was completely impractical. From the fact it had no matching purse to the delicate material meaning it would ruin instantly on the crowded tube in London, and yet..if I had the money...this is the one I would buy! The colour was exquisite and popped against my outfit. The size was perfect for day and night. Chanel had stolen my heart yet again!
VERDICT: This was definitely the winner! Typical me it was also the most expensive. They say the best things in life are free but Chanel definitely disagrees!

Chanel
So what did you guys think? Did I make the right choice? I would love to hear your comments and pictures of your favourite bags!

Sequined Saturday

This weekend my lovely Mum came up from Cornwall to visit me in the big smoke! Now I must have gotten my shopping abilities from her as when she comes up we always end up enjoying some retail therapy.

Everyone has their shopping weakness...mum's is shoes and bags...she has so many of them!
Mine....sparkly stuff. I'm basically a fashion magpie and collect all the glittery/sequinned things I can.

It instantly makes you feel glamorous and is great for an evening out. But why should we limit our shine to the night time!?

By pairing this sequin skirt with a crisp white shirt and baby pink coat, it takes your evening glamour to day-time fun! I toughened it up a bit with these AMAZING buckled boots from New look...leather is always a must for me :)

So how do you wear your day-time sparkle?

All About Me

Well hello there fellow fashion enthusiasts! Welcome to my fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog "Fashion's So Fetch!"
So a bit about me... I'm a 20 year old girl fending for herself in one of the greatest cities and fashion capital's in the world, London! Originally from a small seaside town, I moved two years ago and started working for a French designer company. Alongside that, I did personal styling for the young, glamorous and wealthy looking for key pieces to add to their already full to the brim wardrobes!

I now work within the TV and Media industry and get the chance to work with some amazing celebrities, comedians and TV personalities. Fashion is never far from my mind though, and in a city where anything goes, I like to gather inspiration from things around me; high-street and designer brands alike.
And that is why I'm writing this blog. To be able to share my inspiration and ideas with you and for you to be able to share yours back with me. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it :)
Please don't forget to send me your comments, inspirations and own take on trends and make sure you subscribe so you don't miss a post!
Love to you all, fellow fashionistas!
